Cinco de Sous Vide
Everyone loves celebrating Cinco De Mayo because it’s an excuse to get out the chips and salsa, whip up some margaritas, and put those beers on ice. Whether you are celebrating your heritage and independence or you are simply planning a great get-together by the pool, Cinco De Mayo is the perfect opportunity to start summer parties off early.
No one can subsist on chips and salsa alone! That’s why we’ve put together some delicious sous vide recipes that are delicious party pleasers, including these taco treats:
Southwestern Style Pork Tacos
A pork shoulder roast is the base for this delicious taco and offers a little kick thanks to the garlic, cumin, chipotle and poblano peppers. The can of pilsner mixed into the sous vide cooking process gives the meat even more flavor. Guests are sure to devour these southwestern tacos that also feature a topping of cabbage, avocado, and lime.
Zesty Fish Tacos
This recipe offers a culinary celebration of cultures with creamy avocado and fresh cilantro combined with the fish of your choice. Halibut and sea bass are two great options to consider that are deliciously moist with the sous vide method of cooking. Topped with fried shallots, lettuce, and a dash of lime, these fish tacos will disappear faster than a pitcher of margaritas.
Not everyone hitting up your Cinco De Mayo celebration may want fish or pork. That’s why this vegetarian option is sure to please thanks. These sweet potato and quinoa tacos deliver a refreshing flavor with the combination of textures, including a large dollop of avocado crema.
Don’t Forget the Ceviche!
You can’t have a Cinco De Mayo celebration without adding a little (or a lot of) ceviche to the table. On a hot day by the pool, nothing goes down better than a combination of scallops, shrimp, and salmon atop a few tortilla chips! And, yes, you can make this sous vide style for one of the best tasting ceviche you’ll ever experience!
